Tying a Steamlink RigMinimize

The SteamlinkConsisting of an extremely high quality, fine dyneema with breaking strains of 15lb and 25lb. Coated in its unique material, this low-visibility hooklink has resulted in some incredible hauls and, when used, you will quickly see why.

Carefully following the instructions below, will allow you to make an awesome stiff rig with an extremely supple link, resulting in fantastic hook holds.

This same method is used when using Steamlink's big brother Snaglink.

Steamlink Step 1

Step 1

Remove required amount of ‘Steamlink’, from the handy dispenser, do not be put off by the appearance of the hooklink at this stage!

Steamlink Step 2

Step 2

Having removed about 7 inches of the outer coating, tie an overhand loop to hold bait/boilie stop.

Steamlink Step 3

Step 3

Attach your chosen hook using the tried and tested knotless knot. If you are unsure how to tie this knot click here for detailed instructions

Steamlink Step 4

Step 4

Slide a short piece of shrink tube onto the ‘Steamlink’ and attach a swivel using a simple overhand loop. Slide shrink tube over eye of swivel to complete rig ready for steaming.

Steamlink Step 5

Step 5

Keeping the rig taut and taking care not to scald yourself, move the rig backwards and forwards in the steam from a boiling kettle until the shrink tube shrinks fully.
