The Glugs and how to get the best from them Minimize

warming glugThe Glugs have been designed predominantly as an added attractant to The Boilies and The Bloaters range, yet its properties allow almost any bait to be completely ‘glugged’ dispersing a high attractant flavour into the immediate surrounding water of your hookbait. As it is not water-based, it can be used in conjunction with PVA products.

The Glug is available in 3 flavours to complement The Boilies and Bloaters range: Poms-Pommes (apple and walnut), Jungle (tiger nut and peanut) and Crave (fish and plum), and it is also available in Neutral so you can either use it as it is or flavour it yourself.

The best way to do this is to place the pot in a bowl of hot water to get the Glug to a runnier consistency, which makes mixing easier. Then simply add in the flavours, glug dippingattractants, particles, colours or whatever you wish to make your own individual Glug.

The colder the Glug is, the thicker its consistency. If you wish to make it runnier, you are able to warm the Glug by again sitting the pot in some hot water, e.g. it will sit nicely in your coffee mug. Once away from the heat, the Glug will again thicken. If your tactics require the Glug to remain runnier, add an amount of hot water to the contents and stir in, glug dippingbut remember this will no longer be PVA friendly!

The photographs on this page show a boilie being ‘glugged’, but The Glug, being exceptionally sticky, can be used on almost any bait be it maggots, corn, meat or whatever you choice. The Glug will adhere better to dry bait.

glug dippingBecause The Glug is so sticky, we advise that you hair-rig your bait prior to glugging and use your boilie needle or a small twig to totally submerge it.

As the bait is removed from the pot, you can see The Glug’s ‘toffee apple’ effect as it completely encases the bait. If the bait being used is porous, the flavour of The Glug will penetrate, further prolonging the attractant. Unlike your average bait dip, The Glug does not easily disperse, and instead it is able to linger around your hookbait longer.

Glugging your hookbait doesn't need to end there. Pellets, particles, maggots, etc., will stick to The Glug as the following images show.

Pallatrax hot Tip

We have found that by pre-drilling an amount of our frozen boilies and immersing them into the Glug, you end up with single high attractant hookbaits that have long shelf-life and can genuinely make the difference, giving you that extra edge. We pre-drill each one for later hair-rigging because upon immersion in the Glug the boilies become extremely hard (excellent for deterring nuisance species) and the Glug thins.
