Tony Miles joins Team Pallatrax
By Tini Pomeroy @ 12:09 :: 183 Views :: Pallatrax News Releases, In The Press | |
Tony has been using Pallatrax products in his angling for some time and has recognised our range to be genuinely innovative, of high quality and has, more importantly, helped him to put more fish on the bank.
We are honoured that Tony, a hugely accredited angler and fishing journalist, has joined the ever-growing Pallatrax set up.
He is recognised as one of the country’s leading all-round anglers and has stood at the ‘top’ of his trade for years. Without doubt Tony’s input towards our existing product range and forthcoming products and tactics is, and will be, of immense value for years to come.
Tony states:
Until two years ago, I camouflaged my leads with fine gravel and was reasonably happy with the results until I saw a fellow barbel angler using what looked like a natural stone instead of a lead. When I enquired further, it turned out that it was in fact a Stonze™ weight from Pallatrax, and I was so impressed with the possibilities this innovative system offered that I had to find out more. So I contacted the boss of Pallatrax, Simon Pomeroy, who immediately offered to send me some Stonze™ to use and comment on. Suffice to say, the weights are now a standard feature in my leger rigs for all species. Not only are they obviously more natural than lumps of lead, they will also fill that important niche when lead becomes banned for all country pursuits, as it surely will.
Having met Simon and observed his complete Pallatrax operation first hand, I soon realised that innovation was not limited to Stonze™ but went right across the spectrum of products. A perfect example of that is Gamma line, which Pallatrax recently introduced to the UK. A unique and patented processing method by the world’s top rated manufacturer of tennis racket strings has led to Gamma combining both higher strength to diameter and higher shock resistance than standard monofilaments, as well as greater abrasion resistance and suppleness.
Gamma is therefore now also a standard feature of my fishing, but there is a third, Pallatrax hooks. For my big fish work, where I demand strength without brittleness, sharpness and a profile that resists hook pulls or opening, they are now all I use. From size 2 for bullying big carp from weed beds, to size 16 for hard fighting tench, I have never had one let me down. All readers of my articles will know that I had used and recommended thick gauge Au Lion D’or hooks for over thirty years for big fish, one of the best specimen hooks ever produced. I can now say that Pallatrax are their equal; I do not make that claim lightly.
I am delighted to have now joined the Pallatrax team, helping where I can to maintain the tremendous quality for which the company is rightly known. I would make one closing comment. Don’t just take my word for the effectiveness of Stonze™ weights; ask Stuart Morgan and Guy Robb. When they put together their new underwater barbel DVD, I know they were astonished at barbels’ nonchalant acceptance of the Stonze™ weights as part of the natural environment, compared to the spooking effect of normal leads. |
