Stonze makes it in Canada

Stonze system, from British tackle firm Pallatrax, has won the best environmentally friendly product award in Canadian magazine ‘Outdoor Canada’. The magazine, which has a circulation of 2.2 million, holds an annual fishing awards section in its magazine and the Stonze system was noted as the best product in the environmentally friendly category.
As most will be aware, the Stonze system involves using actual stones modified into fishing weights rather than traditional lead or artificial weights.
The magazine’s review read: “What I find most intriguing about Stonze is the noise that they make when they bang against other rocks. The sound is louder than that made by lead, or even tungsten, and it draws curious fish to your bait. And because the Stonze baits are porous they can easily soak up attractors.”
Boss of Pallatrax, and inventor of the Stonze system, Simon Pomeroy, said: “Obviously I’m delighted to have received accolade.
“Slowly the world is waking up to the fact that anglers can’t keep piling lead into water systems and that there are good alternatives out there.”
In a further publicity push, Simon will making an appearance as a guest speaker at a special conference at the VISMA trade show in the Netherlands on the subject of lead-free fishing. As one of the forerunners in the battle to make fishing more environmentally friendly, Simon and Pallatrax are well versed to speak at the conference.
