NEW BARBEL BAIT RANGE
 
Following extensive field-testing with devastating results, retailers are now able to supply anglers with Pallatrax’s comprehensive, unique and innovative barbel bait range which was launched at last October’s Tackle and Guns trade Show.

With many barbel anglers immediately realising the advantages of the Stonze™ System and appreciating the Stonze™ many positive attributes when fishing for such a cautious species, it seemed the next logical step to bring out a complete Barbel bait range. The barbel range comprises of The Whisker Sticks (Elixir 6), The Whisker Method Mix, The Whisker Paste, The Whisker Pellets, The Drench and The Glug.

The Whisker Sticks - Elixir 6

These frozen bait sticks are approximately 5” long and 12mm in diameter, of which pieces can simply be broken off to the angler’s required size, and then hair-rigged. An extremely angler-friendly bait, which has a host of advantages. To name but a few, once broken off, their flavour can leak from both broken ends. Their unfamiliar shape can certainly be advantageous, especially when targeting wary fish. The shape also makes it extremely anti-eject, resulting in very positive hookholds. The Whisker Sticks are easily crumbed and therefore can be used as loose feed, with PVA bags and in the Method. Proper air-drying will transform them into a longer shelf-life bait.

Elixir 6 Sticks have be developed and designed in conjunction with some of the country’s leading top all-round specimen anglers, namely Gary Newman, Stuart Court, Paul Smyth, Dan Cashmore and Tim Hodges. These anglers have recorded some astonishing results, since the beginning of this years fishing season with the capture of England’s record Barbel (The Traveller) twice, the Kennet record fish three times, one of the largest braces of barbel ever recorded in this country and an amazing amount of specimen double figure barbel from rivers nationwide including The Ouse, The Thames and The Kennet. It has also accounted for unbelievable catches of other specimen fish including chub, roach, rudd, bream, carp and tench.

Elixir 6 is an irresistible potion of six uniquely selected and carefully blended flavours and essential oils. The main flavour is crayfish and was identified and chosen because this crustacean is now such a noted food source in our river systems. This has then been added to an extremely high quality and nutritional fishmeal base mix. The Whisker Sticks contain no preservatives and, therefore, are only available in frozen baits, packed into resealable bags, which are then further packed in quality freezer bags. They are available in 400g and 1kg bags, RRP £5.50 and £11.00, respectively.

The Paste - Elixir 6

Predominantly designed to be moulded around your piece of Stick, The Paste can also be used directly as a hookbait. Again, it contains no preservatives and comes frozen. Once defrosted, simply break off the required amount and work it between your fingers to make it pliable. RRP £3.40 for 250g.

The Whisker Method Mix

The Whisker Method Mix has been carefully combined to result in a stickier mixture, which will not easily wash away with the flow of the river. Again, it is made with top quality ingredients allowing the angler to offer a superior attractant food source into his swim and close to his hookbait, slowly dispersing it’s scent trail downstream. The River Method Mix is priced at £4.50 for a kilo bag, which includes a free Stonze™ weight – the perfect method feeder for our Method Mix and also part of the consistently successful terminal tackle always used by our field-testers.

The Whisker Pellet Range
The Whisker Pellets are higher in oil content than our Coarse Pellet range. These quality Pellets are available in 4mm, 6mm and 8mm and are ideal as a loose feed, PVA bagging, or hookbait. The RRP is £4.50 per kilo and, as with the Method, contains a free Stonze™ weight.

The Glug - Elixir 6

This exceptionally sticky Glug is designed to cling to your bait, slowly dispersing a flavoured high attractant into the water immediately surrounding your hookbait. Breakdown rates depend on water temperature. Obviously, any hookbait can be ‘glugged’ with The Sticks being an ideal candidate. One of the serious angling edges that the Glug gives is that having drilled your Stick sections and immersed them within the Glug, these hookbaits not only become extremely highly flavoured, but also very hard and, therefore, an ideal choice against the attention of crayfish. When gently warmed, The Glug becomes runnier and has the advantage of being able to be poured into PVA bags. RRP £5.99 150g

The Drench - Elixir 6

This oil-based and, therefore, PVA friendly overspray is currently only available in Elixir 6. It is supplied in a quality 50ml atomiser and has a multitude of uses as an attractant to your hookbait, method mix or especially as a pellet overspray. Shake the bottle well prior to use to thoroughly mix contents. RRP £4.00

As with Pallatrax’s ongoing philosophy, anglers at the sharp end have designed these high quality products with consistent fish captures at the forefront. This has now led to Pallatrax developing further Whisker Sticks along with a comprehensive Carp Stick range, to be launched shortly with more detail being released nearer the time.
