Upper Tamar Fishing Lake Complex North Devon – Restocking Carp

Pallatrax’s Simon Pomeroy recently went to the Upper Tamar complex in North Devon where he met up with South West Lakes Trust Ben Smeeth who was overseeing the introduction of new carp stock to the venue.

Under Ben and his teams guidance there is a comprehensive stocking policy being undertaken over the next three years and this was the first batch of beautiful carp from North Devon’s Lana Springs fish farm.

Twenty five carp were introduced, a mix of Mirrors (including fully scaled and linears) and Commons, the fish weighing between 19lb and 35lb and similar size fish and batch sizes will be added going forward. Being the venue for the thrice yearly Pallatrax Carp Open series of high profile matches these additions will only add further to what is undoubtedly the largest matches of their type in the South West.
