Earlier this week, Pallatrax Team member John Mayell fished on Bowes Lake at the Angel of the North fishery. John fished the pole in the margins on peg forty and, in his own words, he said “this is my biggest haul of fish in 60 years of angling – it was unbelievable!!!” John was alternating between 10mm Jungle Squabs & 10mm Meat Beast Squabs banded on a size 12 Wide Gape Gripz hook and had a haul of 140 carp which included 17 large doubles and a lot of carp around the 8-9 pound mark. Unfortunately, John had no camera, but a neighbouring angler kindly took the below photograph and sent it through to John. The fish pictured was the last fish of the day and one of the smallest.
