Pallatrax Summer Carp Open Match ResultsPallatrax Angling
Our Summer Carp Open match, which we run in association with South West Lakes Trust, drew to its conclusion on Sunday and fun was had by all. The weather conditions looked good from the off and the carp made an early showing with a number of pegs dotted around the lake starting to pick up fish. Now this really is a challenge water and with over 80 acres of water a very much larger lake than normally used in match fishing venues across the country – which really does make for exciting fishing. The following 48 hours seemed to fly by and the top 5 positions were literally a few ounces between framing or not, it really was anyone’s match and ultimately went down to the wire.
Congratulations to father and son duo Jason and Peter Budd who took the ultimate honours as well as the TWO THOUSAND POUNDS first prize. Another exciting competition and Pallatrax would like to thank not only all the entrants but in particular the team of marshals and organisers who make this ‘not for profit’ event so successful.
With serious cash prizes up for grabs and a growing appreciation of the match we now have anglers travelling across the country to fish our matches and the next one is over the weekend of 22nd to 24th September 2017. If you’re interested please confirm your place as early as possible as we have already had a number of pre bookings and with only thirty swims available places are sure to be limited. For bookings please contact Ben Smeeth on 07739 428176 asap and we will look forward to seeing you there. On a final note the restocking programme at Upper Tamar should have kicked in by the next match so be prepared for a number of big fish to over 30lb which will have been introduced into the lake by then.
