Terry and Darren go stalking for carpPallatrax Angling
I get almost as much pleasure out of helping somebody else to catch a fish as I do catching one for myself.
Yesterday after finishing work at 4pm I took my best friend, Darren, to my stalking water where I had just got him a ticket. He hasn’t fished for about 6 years due to having 3 young children.
We found fish in the upper layers very quickly and armed with size 8 Gripz hooks tied straight to main line and whittled down Crave pop ups for hookbaits, we went about catching them off the top.
I was first off the mark with a 14lb 10oz common carp, then we moved to some pads where I have had good success recently and I let Darren go for them while I watched and waited. He caught himself a 10lb 9oz common after a short while and then it was my turn again.
I added a fully scaled mirror to the tally that I didn’t weigh because milt was coming out of him so I wanted to get him back in the water quickly.
Darren was chuffed to get a fish on his first outing in years, and it was great to be able to help him catch one and obviously add a couple more to my album!
