Work overnight success for James Wenglorz – 25lb 14oz

Having not fished since early August due to a hectic work schedule, I was dying to get the rods out. I had relatively easy workload coming up so I got hold of a good friend Stuart to see if he was interested in a catching up for a couple of nights on our syndicate water – which he accepted. Unfortunately I still had work booked in for the daytime but I managed to leave early on both days in order to get things sorted well before dark came. We plotted up in a double swim that has been kind to me this season and set about getting the rods sorted out for the night.

Hookbaits were the same as I have been using for most of this season, a combination of an 18mm Multiworm tipped with a 14mm Crave or Multi-crave as I call it. Both were boilie bottom baits straight out of the freezer and I scattered around forty mixed baits over each rod and sat back to relax with Stuart over a bottle or two of nice red wine. At around 9pm the left hand rod melted off and after a very strong battle I landed one of the lakes big fish, a fish known as the Imposter leather which weighed in at a new top weight of 25lb 14oz. A lovely welcome back to the lake.
